Abstract:

1 One purpose of the study is to evaluate the effects of hippotherapy on motor performance in individuals with disabilities. Fifty veterans will be recruited and receive traditional physical therapy and physical therapy including hippotherapy. Measures will be taken after each session and analyzed. 2 This study will also evaluate the impact of the Beck PRIDE Center on health and well being and quality of life. 3 It will document veteran completion of referrals and engagement with care across six domain areas. 4 It will develop a program implementation manual that can be distributed to other educational institutions. The significance of these areas of investigation will further the model for civilian institutions to engage combat veterans with disabilities and their families on reintegration post employment.
