Due to the lack of clear regulatory or Air Force guidance regarding the frequency of performing ventilation surveillance, many base-level bioenvironmental engineering elements and flights have ventilation programs that are not in compliance. As a response to an Air Force Audit Agency audit, this report was created to provide the base-level bioenvironmental engineering elements and flights with recommended program management practices and a recommended method for performing health-risk assessments to establish a baseline survey. Properly established baseline surveys are critical for ensuring the health and safety of the worker. The Ventilation Technical Guide recommends program guidance for executing a ventilation program with active oversight of the program to prevent deficiencies from occurring. Additionally, the report provides a recommended method for determining frequency of surveillance based on the exposure to the worker using air sampling data and statistics. Lastly, it contains reference materials for determining design criteria for specific operations.
