Abstract:
Perspectives for South America and Civil-Military Collaboration USSOUTHCOM funded in partnership with the Department of State and USAID. Participants included Military and Civilian entities from Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America Nongovernmental organizations U.S. Navy Energy Task Force and the U.S. Department of Energy. Topics Regional Climate Change Trends, Mitigation and Adaptation Issues, and Civil-Military Collaboration in the Region. Focused Discussions were held on Key trends and challenges from a military perspective, Civilian-Military Collaboration opportunities Intergovernmental coordination, a Framework for future engagements, and Lessons learned with the U.S. Navy Energy Task Force.
