Abstract:

The purpose of this presentation is to provide information regarding the activities of the Technology Standards Group TSG. The Armys TSG provides a systematic process for the evaluation and implementation of technological innovation in support of the Armys installation management mission. The overall objective of the program is to achieve efficient facility management through the planning, programming, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Army facilities. The specific objectives of the program are as follows Define Army Standards applicable to construction, renovation, and maintenance of facilities Minimize overall time and costs for planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance Address changing functional, regulatory, and policy requirements as well as lessons learned and technological advances in materials, equipment, systems, and methods Assist the Installation Management Command IMCOM and landholding Commands in the provision of consistent standards and quality and Provide mechanisms for the receipt, evaluation, and implementation of new and proven technologies and proposals to improve the facility management of Army installations. The TSGs organizational members are as follows the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management OACSIM Lead Agency, Installation Management Command IMCOM, HQ U.S. Army Corps of Engineers HQ USACE, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center ERDC -- USACE Research Component, and DASA IEE -- Energy Representative.
