Abstract:
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command NAVFAC Engineering Service Center NAVFAC ESC, under the sponsorship of NAVFAC and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program ESTCP, attempted to demonstrate and validate a full-scale treatment system for biodegrading hazardous expired shelf-life ESL, solvent-based paint into nonhazardous byproducts. Previous research and studies suggested the application was an economically viable process that would reduce the Navys highest per pound recurring cost.
