The definition, translation, and implementation of what resiliency really means when used to reflect the ability of Army families and soldiers is what this research is seeking. The need for a doctrinal template for the roles, responsibilities, requirement and employment of Rear Detachment must be established. The current doctrine and the way the Rear Detachment is used, does not address building family resiliency.
