The current research accomplished three objectives 1 it examined the factors that influence the effectiveness of organizational change initiatives within the government, 2 it explored the relevance of novel simulation technologies in supporting organizational changes, and 3 it fostered engagement with actual organizational change projects within the Department of Defense DoD to reveal factors that inhibit organizational change success in military organizations. This report details specific interventions used in organizational change projects, simulation tools as they were applied in an organizational setting, and the theory behind change readiness as a facilitator of organizational change. Notably, the current research also discussed the following barriers to change in military organizations group differences among personnel, rapid senior leader turnover, lack of communicationvisioning behaviors, too much focus on technology and lack of attention toward change management, historical factors, and lack of attention to workspace design.
