This report contains a summary of compounds submitted to Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey by Arthur D. Little, Inc. for heat of combustion determination. When sufficient sample was available, stability and sensitivity tests were also made. Except for two compounds, namely Medina methylene dinitramine and bis2,2,2-trinitroethylurea, all those tested whose performance was outstanding were unsatisfactory for use as military high explosives because of poor thermal stability, extreme sensitivity, or both.
