Abstract:

The time-dependent, chemically reacting, viscous fluid dynamics within gas laser mixing systems and pressure recovery systems are simulated using the unsteady, laminar and turbulent multi-component Navier-Stokes equations. The solutions of these equations are generated within simulations of the relevant laser sub-systems at standard operating conditions. The simulations are performed to provide greater insight regarding the physical processes underlying these sub-systems so that these physics may be exploited to improve performance. In this light, simulations of several laser subsystems are provided.
