Abstract:

The Solid Propellant Mix Laboratory, located at Edwards Air Force Base EAFB California underwent a major renovation to address facility and personnel protection deficiencies identified during a structural and hazard analysis performed for explosive re-siting of the facility. This paper documents the re-siting and renovation approachefforts performed by AFRL personnel, consultants and contractors from 2006 to 2010, and the lessons learned that may help other organizations faced with re-siting and renovating explosive facilities.
