Abstract:

The U.S. Army Research Laboratorys Automatic Construction of Urgently-needed Translation Engines ACUTE initiative develops foreign-language machine translation MT systems. Development conducted July through August 2007 in support of ACUTE MT efforts produced ScrapRE, a textual entity extractor for online news articles. ScrapRE has been used since September 2007 to compile an Urdu-language document corpus.
