Abstract:

We report the status of ongoing activities in development of a compact, low-power atomic timefrequency standard, the Chip-Scale Atomic Clock CSAC. The status of efforts addressing the refinement of the CSAC for improved mechanical and environmental robustness is described. The improved frequency stability offered by CSAC has the potential to impact a number of system applications, and these impacts are discussed.
