Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the benefits and challenges of Turkeys defense systems acquisition policy. The primary focus is on policy effects on the defense industry and how the policy has changed the structure of the defense industry since its implementation. The research compares Turkeys defense industry with that of other countries, and explores its relative position. Defense industry policies of first- and second-tier countries are identified to provide insights and a comparative baseline about best practices. Finally, the research evaluates the future challenges of the Turkish defense industry and makes recommendations based on this evaluation.
