Amphibious operations, particularly those of the Special Landing Force SLF, contributed significantly to the United States Military Assistance Command Vietnams USMACV operational mobility and flexibility by providing timely striking power ashore and from the sea, all of which are essential characteristics of naval campaigns in support of ground operations.
