Abstract:

Aircraft Counter Measures ACCM is a laser system designed to provide significant glare source. It is part of a Warfighter Rapid Acquisition Program WRAP involving AFSOCA5T, AFRLDE, AFRLHE, and Boeing Scorpworks Lab. Green light laser of particular wavelength, found to create a dazzling effect on the human eye. The main purpose of this test was to determine if the ACCM laser system works as an effective counter measure against small arms fire. The test team hoped to locate and measure the miss distance of all shots fired by the aggressor teams. Without a working Scorpworks sensor suite, the test team were unable to identify shots by shooter or show when a shooter was in the ACCM beam.
