The United States Air Force USAF or Air Force prepared an Environmental Assessment EA to assess the potential environmental consequences of activities associated with constructing and operating a vehicle maintenance facility at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado. This EA was prepared in accordance with requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act NEPA and the corresponding NEPA-implementing regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality 40 Code of Federal Regulations CFR 1500-1508 and the USAF 32 CFR 989. The Proposed Action is to construct and operate a new vehicle maintenance facility for combined use by the USAF and the Air National Guard near the intersection of Aspen Street and Camp Hale Way at Buckley Air Force Base. In addition to the Proposed Action, three action alternatives, and a No Action Alternative were considered. The three action alternatives to the Proposed Action include constructing an Air Force-only facility at the Proposed Action location, constructing an Air Force-only facility at an alternative location, and expandingmodifying the existing facility to serve the Air Force only.
