Abstract:
Air combat training is becoming increasingly constrained by shrinking budgets, airspace limitations for countermeasures and supersonic employment, and operational taskings that limit continuation training opportunities. Therefore, this myriad of constraints and restraints further hamstrings the peacetime mission essential competencies training gap driven in large part by concerns for personnel, equipment, and environmental safety. Finally, as if the challenge were not big enough, recent and rapid technology changes have exacerbated the problem, especially for the F-16 community.
