Abstract:

Unwanted noise is a by-product of many industrial processes and systems. In active noise cancellation ANC, one introduces a secondary noise source to generate an acoustic field that interferes destructively with the unwanted noise, and thereby attenuates it. Noise reduction is important to protect listeners in high noise environments from hearing damage, to enhance speech communication, and to reduce noise-induced fatigue. These adverse effects of noise can cause accidents and reduce the productivity of workers.
