A propane-fueled combustor was built to support the development of an alternate to the external fire test currently required for final hazards classification HC. The device has the capability to provide a controlled heat flux environment of 20-200 kilowattssquare meter. This results in a repeatable and quantifiable environment for the evaluation of the fast cook-off response of an ordnance item.
