Abstract:
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS Developed a theory of fault-tolerant quantum dynamical decoupling DD Showed how to construct optimized DD procedures from empirical data Gave conditions for optimal decoherence free subspaces DFS Developed an optimal algorithm for quantum process tomography, with quadratic speedup over all previously known such algorithms no connection to Grover speedup Developed a completely positive post-Markovian quantum master equation Developed a range of hybrid quantum error correction, DFS, and DD protocols, tailored to various quantum computing.
