This progress report highlights our past 12 months of work on understanding neuroendocrine differentiation in prostate cancer CaP. We have made headway into understanding the paracrine relationship between neuropeptide expressing CaP cells and androgen-insensitive CaP cells. Specifically the ability for neuropeptide expressing CaP cells to support the proliferation and migration of the androgen sensitive CaP cells in an environment without androgens castrate. The more detailed, in vivo experiments will provide a model to look at the relationship in a temporal fashion at the time of castration.
