The Sixth Amendment Confrontation Clause has evolved and undergone significant change since its inception in early Roman history. This evolution continues today as a result of technological advances in communications that have improved our ability to electronically access remote witnesses that were traditionally beyond the courts jurisdiction. Consequently, courts today are in a position to enhance an accuseds opportunity to confront witnesses against them in criminal trials.
