The decision for an autonomous Unmanned Air VehicleVA-9 to strike a target is an important one that has important consequences. The details regarding the decision and the process of deciding need to be well defined and understood. This paper presents a Petri net approach to UA V decision making based on fuzzy reasoning. It shows that Petri nets are a viable tool for modeling and validating propositional logic for rule-based reasoning in UA V decisions. It also discusses alternative methods for modeling places a input sources for transitions representing rules.
