The U.S. has the worlds most powerful military and economy, making it virtually impossible for another nation or non-state actor to challenge the U.S. in conventional warfare. As a result, Americas adversaries are adopting asymmetrical warfare approaches, such as cyber attacks, as part of their strategy to disrupt the American infrastructure and economy. Consequently it is essential that we secure and protect Americas cyberspace our National Security depends on it. In February 2003, the President of the U.S. approved and released the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace. This strategic research paper analyzes the Presidents National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace to determine whether it effectively provides solutions for securing cyberspace. It concludes by proposing an alternative strategy for securing cyberspace.
