The objective of this study is to represent large data fields with a reduced set of data using Proper Orthogonal Decomposition POD. The original effort focused on reduced order modeling for a set of aerodynamics data for an experimental flapping wing. Due to delays in obtaining an adequate data set with which to demonstrate the POD methodology, the project was refocused on a similar modeling problem involving reconstruction of human nasal airway passages, since that data set was readily available. This report describes the POD approach utilized in the study.
