Abstract:

Excessive consumption of dietary fat may enhance the rate of breast cancer metastasis. In addition it is generally accepted that the upregulation of endothelial cell adhesion molecules is involved in the formation of blood-borne metastasis. Among different adhesion molecules, evidence indicates that intracellular adhesion molecule-1 ICAM-1 may play a critical role in breast cancer metastatic formation.
