Abstract:

The aims are a to determine the mechanism by which neurotensin NT enhances prostate Cancer PC3 cell growth and b to test if NT released by eating mediates the cancer- Promoting effects of high fat diets Experiments conducted here show that NT enhanced Arachidonic acid metabolism generating primarily lipoxygenase-derived products NT Stimulated DNA-replication and its effect was blocked by lipoxygenase inhibitors by MAP-kinase inhibitors by PI3 kinase inhibitor, by Ca2 - channel blocker and by tyrosine Kinase inhibitors. NT caused the accumulation of EGF-like ligands and transactivation Of the EGF receptor.
