Abstract:

As the federal government continues to improve its financial accountability to the taxpayers, the Department of Defense DoD is also trying to increase its efficiency. Within DoD, the Department of the Army and specifically, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management Comptroller OASAFMC are critical participants in this search for better business practices and enhanced control over the planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System PPBES, which is the Armys process for obtaining the funds required to complete its mission. The ASAFMC, wants to improve the performance of its organization in managing the Armys budget.
