Abstract:

This is an Academic Award Career Development Award. The purpose of this application is to free additional time for the Principal Investigator to ..appraise critically the state of the science in a particular aspect of breast cancer research and to forge new avenues of investigation. The PI will apply new, state-of-the-art technologies to identify key endocrine-regulated molecular pathways to apoptosis proliferation. By identifying key components of these pathways, we may be able to predict response to first-line and crossover antiestrogenic therapies, andor provide novel therapeutic strategies for antiestrogen resistant tumors. We also will establish a SAGE database containing the molecular profile of MCF-7 cells and several variants.
