This work plan was prepared by Parsons Engineering Science, Inc. Parsons ES for the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence AFCEE as part of an overall demonstration of engineered tree plantings to hydraulically control phytostabilize groundwater contaminated with chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons CAHs. The activities outlined in this work plan will be performed at Altus Air Force Base AFB, Oklahoma. Two primary objectives exist for this project 1 Demonstrate the ability or inability of engineered tree plantings to hydraulically control groundwater through field measurements and 2 Utilizing the field measurements, refine and calibrate a water balance model to be used as a screening and evaluation tool for phytostabilization at other Air Force sites to be completed by others. These two objectives provide the basis for the activities outlined in this work plan.
