Abstract:
This report results from a contract tasking Leninetz Holding Company, NIPGS as follows The process of decomposition of liquid hydrocarbons kerosene is complicated by coke formation reactions. To reduce the mentioned phenomenon to a minimum, the contractor offers to use the two-stage scheme of steam reforming of liquid hydrocarbons. The proposed work is a logical follow-on of research of the reactor of coaxial type done previously on an EOARD grant. The new reactor is planned to be of the rectangular form for the purpose of understanding the influence of geometry on parameters of hydrodynamics and heat-mass-exchange. Also, the length of the reactor will be increased, quantity and arrangement of thermoelectric couples and samplers will be changed for determination of structure of the convertible mixture. An improvement to the technology of deposition of planar catalysts with the purpose to achieve thermal stability and thermal-cyclical strength of coatings. The tests of the new reactor with the improved catalyst will be carried out at the flow parameters, corrected by results of the previous experiments. It concerns initial temperature of the mixture entered the reactor, its speed and ratio.
