Abstract:

The Defense Personnel Support Center DPSC is registered to procure, warehouse, and distribute narcotic substances under the provisions of the Controlled Substances Act CSA. DPSC maintains accountable records for controlled substances managed by the Defense Logistics Agency DLA, and four DLA depots have physical custody of the controlled substances. The DPSC is the largest single distributor of controlled substances in the United States. In May 1991, DPSC managed a controlled substance inventory valued at about 5.7 million.
