This paper is an analysis of the current United States Armys intelligence capabilities to support military operations on urbanized terrain MOUT. It begins with an in depth discussion of the topics relevance to Army warfighters. Next, the paper provides an overview of the 1994-1995 Russian Battle of Grozny as a case study for lessons learned especially focused toward intelligence operations. Finally, an analysis of these lessons learned serves as a basis for recommending how we can better leverage Army intelligence doctrine, organizations, and materiel to support tactical forces fighting in a MOUT environment.
