Abstract:

The OH-58D Kiowa Warrior Kiowa Warrior helicopter is designed to perform armed reconnaissance, command and control, and target acquisitiondesignation in adverse weather conditions. The Kiowa Warrior is a modification of the OH-58D Army Helicopter Improvement Program helicopter to provide air-to-ground weapon systems and multipurpose light helicopter capabilities. The Army began producing Kiowa Warrior helicopters in FY 1991. In total, the Army plans to acquire 366 Kiowa Warrior helicopters at an estimated cost of 3.2 billion then-year dollars.
