Abstract:

This research project is a study of the relevance of the clausewitzian concept of the paradox al trinity throughout the history. In a first part it examines the emergence of the people as the main pole of the trinity and its importance inside the war phenomenon. In a second one it examines the place the people played in the conduct of war from the classical period to the modern era. At last, in a third part, it examines the dialectical relations between the government and the military. The research paper concludes on the validity of the trinity concept.
