Submillimeter wave oscillators with power approaching 0.5 mW were developed based on distributed arrays of wide Josephson junctions. The report describes the achievements in design fabrication technology, methods of coupling the oscillator power off-chip and spectral measurements as well as the possible limitations on the oscillators power related to the device physics. It is shown that distributed arrays of wide self-shunted junctions are promising for the future development of submillimeter wave sources with more than 1 mW power.
