This grant has supported study in the general area of time-dependent rotating hydraulics and nonlinear waves. Two recent projects have been completed. The first is a study of the fully nonlinear dam break problem in a rotating channel. One focus of this work has been to study of the characteristics and dynamics of the shocks and bores. The second project is an extension of Longs classic problem of upstream influence and establishment of hydraulically control to flow in rotating channels.
