Abstract:

This second annual report of the National Turbine Engine High Cycle Fatigue HCF Program is a brief review of work completed, work in progress, and technical accomplishments. This program is a coordinated effort with participation by the Air Force, the NavAir Force, the Navy, and NASA. The technical efforts are organized under seven Action Teams including Materials Damage Tolerance Research, Forced Response Prediction, Component Analysis, Instrumentation, Passive Damping Technology, Component Surface Treatments, and Aeromechanical Characterization. Daniel E. Thornson, AFRLPRTC, Wright-Patterson AFB, is the Program Manager.
