We have constructed an ultrafast laser spectroscopy facility from equipment purchased under this instrumentation award. when optimized, this system will produce pulses with energies up to 100 microjoules with a 100 fs duration over a range of wavelengths tunable from 400 to 2000 nm. The short pulse duration, high beam quality, and high peak power available from the laser provides state of the art capabilities for research including ultrafast spectroscopy, characterization of nonlinear optical materials, control of self action effects, and quantum control of wavepacket dynamics.
