The resultsof studies carried out in the cytoarchi- tectonics and conductin. pathways, in the cytology and his- tochemistry of neural elements, and in the minute character- istics of the structure of neurons and interneural bonds of various sections of the central and peripheral neurous sys- tern at various stages of intrauterine life and after birth in certain animals and humans, may serve aS a basis for certain conclusions and generalizations relating to the general problem of the development of structure and funct- ionin phylo- and ontogenesis The data available to us and compared with the data in the literature enable us al- so to make a comparative analysis of the periods of emergent rates of development and maturation, and the peculiarities of structural differentiation of various neural formatons which participate in the arrangement of the reflex activit- ies of the organism. 1c t
