Abstract:
The 11 mole ratio reaction of t-Bu3In with SbSiMe33 results in the formation of the Lewis acid-base adduct t-Bu3In.SbSiMe33 I, while the dimeric compound T-Bu2InSbSiMe322 II is isolated from the 11 reaction of t-Bu2InCl with SbSiMe33. Both the 21 reactions of t-Bu2InCl with SbSiMe33 and t-Bu2InCl with II result in the formation of the mixed-bridge compound t-Bu2InSbSiMe32Int-Bu2Cl III, however 1H NMR studies suggest that this compound is unstable in solution. Thermolysis of I, II, and t-Bu3Ga.SbSiMe33 IV results in the formation of nanocrystalline InSb or GaSb through a beta-hydride elimination pathway.
