Abstract:

According to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology, the Department of Defense currently does not have sufficient means of tracking andor understanding the magnitude of problems associated with musculoskeletal MS injuries amongst its civilian and active duty personnel. The Naval Health Research Center NHRC, San Diego, CA, has been conducting its own studies and research with regard to MS injuries. One elite group within this community which was targeted for the research is the Navy Seals. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the impact on operational readiness using the measure of effectiveness MOE mission dependent man-days lost over time as a result of MS injuries incurred by Navy Seals.
