Abstract:

During the period of this Grant 1994-97 the research program on Studies of High-Tc Superconducting Films for High-Power Microwave Applications focused on three areas 1 Nonlinear microwave flux dynamics, 2 Nonlinear impedance of engineered Josephson junctions and the dynamics of Josephson vortices associated with the nonlinear impedance, and 3 Extension of the coupled grain model to include a distribution of Ic and Rn. During this period Nathan Belk completed his-Ph.D. thesis in the area of Nonlinear microwave flux dynamics. In this report, the progress made on each of these projects during the 1994--97 funding period is summarized.
