Abstract:

Two dimensional and one dimensional computer simulations of shock wave phenomena and uniform high rate deformation in composite, porous and brittle materials have been performed. A resonance regime of shock compression of 1-D laminated model of the composite is discussed. An empirical constitutive relationship has been constructed to describe the dispersive effects in a composite in continuous manner. Computer simulation of dynamic compaction shows changing symmetry of pores. The formulation of shear bands of various configurations with friction and without friction was analyzed in two-dimensional geometry.
