Experimental Performance Studies of a Plate Heat Exchanger.

A plate and frame heat exchanger experimental test stand was developed. Using this test stand a performance analysis was conducted. The analysis consisted of evaluating the performance of the heat exchanger at varying flow rates and inlet temperatures, to develop an effectiveness-NTU and Log Mean Temperature Difference relationships, under steady state operation. The measured heat rates were compared to the heat rates provided by the manufacturer and goodbad agreement was found. Standard operating procedures for the test stand were developed and implemented.
