Abstract:

McDonald Army Community Hospital MACH is part of the Tricare Mid-Atlantic Region 2 TMAR2. Tricare is the Department of Defenses latest effort to manage the health care delivery for its beneficiaries in an effort to control costs, improve quality, and increase access. Tricare Prime, with its voluntary enrollment process, is the cornerstone of Tricare. The purpose of this seminal case study is to detail the development and current status of Tricare Prime at MACH. A descriptive beneficiary survey was used to provide the commander with a current assessment of Tricare Prime enrollment. The overall response rate to the survey was 21. A Pearson Product-Moment Coefficient r correlation matrix was calculated for the 34 study variables.
