Nonperpendicular Illumination of Ultrasonic Cells.

Results obtained by nonperpendicular illumination of ultrasonic cells are described. There is reasonably good agreement between theory and experiment this agreement exists for results obtained when the cell is operated at 5, 15, and 25 Mcs. In an optical analog computer, the light intensity of the optical output can be increased considerably by illuminating the cell at the Bragg angle but this increase is obtained at the expense of decreased bandwidth of operation.
