Abstract:

Heating Me2InBr Mes 2,4,6-tBu3C6H2 at 130-150 deg C under reduced pressure afforded the new isomer MesBrInCh2CCH32C6H3tBu2 1 in 55 yield. The solid-state stmcture of 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The resultant geomery around the indium center can be viewed as pseudo trogonal bupyramidal due to two close contacts of o-tBu hydrogens on the Mes groups. Reaction of InSePh21 with MesMgBr resulted in the quantitative formation of MesInSePh2 2. An X-ray structural analysis of 2 revealed a monomeric molecule.
