Abstract:

With the production of Class I Ozone Depleting Substances discontinued as of January 1996, it became necessary to identify suitable replacements for chlorofluorocarbon CFC-113 and trichloroethane TCA based electrical contact cleaners and cleanerlubricant products. These products were available under military specifications MIL-C-81964 and MIL-C-83360. Two hydrochlorofluorocarbon HCFC-141b blends were identified as substitutes and recommended for interim use.
