The purpose of this study is to identify the critical synchronizing aspects of air ground operations and assist in the development of methods that will enhance operational readiness and the combat effectiveness of joint close air support operations in a Low Intensity Conflict. The Air-Ground Training Feedback System AGTFS developed through this effort provides performance assessments that may be used to enhance training and support analysis of doctrinal, organizational, training, material and leadership issues such as OPTEMPO requirements for readiness. The issue of joint close air support was approached with the intent of developing a system for improving training which would lead to enhanced CAS effectiveness and reduced probability of fratricide. Through this effort an AGTFS was developed and some systemic issues that distract from effective joint close air support were uncovered. The AGTFS addressed the issue through three elements process measures, outcome measures, and the database structure. This system allows for the continuous feedback to the CAS community of lessons learned and potential remedies. Five recommendations.
